Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of inpatient med/surg experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit setting
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
- 36 or 48 hour weekly options available
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Weekend shifts required
- Float to units of equal or lesser acuity
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient med/surg nursing experience required
- Prior charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system preferred
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- Experience with respiratory care including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a medical surgical unit setting
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Former staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
