Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience and Level 1 Trauma background.

Details

• Work in a 36-bed CVICU unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• Patient population includes post-cardiac surgery, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, and hemodynamically complex cases
• Targeted patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• 36- or 48-hour shift options available
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required within specialty clusters and to nearby Premier Health campuses (Dayton, Centerville, Englewood) at facility discretion
• Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday

Requirements

• Active RN license (State or Compact); OH or compact license required
• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU staff experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
• Must pass an online EKG/tele competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• Experience required with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws
• Experience with Impella, IABP, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, and thermodilution PA cath monitoring required
• Epic charting experience required
• No prior license disciplinary action permitted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular ICU patients including post-op cardiac surgery and cath lab cases
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Up to 24 hours of orientation modules may be completed
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per contract due to low census
• Facility may cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice
• RTO must be requested at time of submission; no additional RTO will be added after an offer is made, with a maximum of 14 days allowed per contract
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as local travelers
• Previous Premier Health perm/PRN employees or agency staff not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler, pending facility rehire approval
