Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Critical Care Float for a hospital float pool position requiring ICU experience and the flexibility to float across multiple units on night shift.

Details

• Hospital-based Critical Care Float pool position
• Float pool staff expected to work throughout the hospital including Emergency Department, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU
• Patient ratios up to 1:6 in Med-Surg and 1:2-3 in ICU settings
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling as this is a pool staffing position with no block schedule requests permitted
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• ICU experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care/management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required including BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and suctioning (ETT, NT)
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, including management of dysrhythmias
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips required
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support across multiple hospital units as part of a float pool team
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of submission
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on assignment period: 1-2 major holidays require full coverage with no holiday RTO, 3 major holidays allow one holiday RTO request for consideration
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Permanent, PRN, or internal staff must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers who were previously cancelled must complete one assignment outside the health system before reapplying
• Full compliance required to start on time
