Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring adult critical care and ED experience.

Details

• Adult critical care and Emergency Department work setting at a Level II Trauma Center community hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Mandatory on-call: 3 shifts per 6-week scheduling period
• Must float within scope to ER and Adult ICU Stepdown units as needed, and to nearby affiliated facilities based on census
• ICU travelers may float to non-ICU units with standard patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6
• Charting via Epic
• Wine colored scrubs required

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of respiratory therapy experience
• BLS, ACLS, and CRT certifications required
• ACLS may be obtained within a 90-day window from start date
• VA state license required (or proof of application along with another non-compact state license)
• License required if applicable
• RRT and NRP certifications preferred
• Community hospital and Level II Trauma experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Experience with airway management, medication administration, ABGs, O2 therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizers required
• NICU, ED, and adult ICU experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies
• Perform arterial blood gas draws and analysis
• Implement and manage CPAP/BiPAP therapy
• Attend monthly department meetings when working, or review and acknowledge meeting minutes if not scheduled
• No block scheduling accommodations available
• RTO at manager's discretion; Christmas Eve/Christmas RTO cannot be accommodated
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Returning travelers must have a 1-year separation from the facility before reapplying
• Up to 8 hours of pre-start training modules required within 1 week of signing
