Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring CA RN license and ICU critical care experience.
Details
- ICU setting with 1:2 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 1900-0700
- Preferred specialties include CVICU and Neuro ICU
- Care for neurological patients including CVA/acute stroke, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy, post-neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Epic EMR preferred
- Floating required between sister facilities within the region
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required (Compact license must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Experience with respiratory/thoracic care, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, and care of ventilated patients
- Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions/PPE
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including those with complex neurological and respiratory conditions
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility for local rate consideration
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Only one active submission allowed to a Providence facility at a time
- First-time ICU travelers may be considered depending on overall ICU experience
