Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Operating Room position requiring Level I trauma and neuro experience along with an active IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room of a Level I trauma center specializing in ENT, Urology, Plastics, General Surgery, Orthopedic, Trauma, and Neurosurgery
• Pediatric population including neonates, infants, toddlers, children, and adolescents, with some adult patients
• Surgical procedures range from minor cases to complex procedures including ECMO, burn procedures, tumor resections, and trauma cases
• Required surgery case experience includes General, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Plastics, and ENT
• Uses specialized equipment including Stealth, DaVinci, and ROSA
• Shift options include 4x10s (7:00-17:30) or 5x8s (7:00-15:30)
• Call requirement of 4 call shifts per 6 weeks
• Travelers will float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) required in hand
• BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Neuro experience required (adult experience acceptable)
• Level I trauma center experience preferred
• Scrub experience preferred
• Cerner EMR charting experience required
• RN must have graduated from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• 2 supervisor references required

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of pediatric and some adult surgical cases
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a lower pay package
• IN residents are considered local
• Former IU Health perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
• Current or past IU Health travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment must take a break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
• RTO requests of 5 days or less are auto-approved
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
