Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a compact or Ohio RN license and Level I Trauma Center experience.
Details
- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric populations
- Level I Trauma Center, stroke-certified, and STEMI-certified facility
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Patient ratio of 1:3.5
- EPIC documentation system used
- Pyxis medication dispensing system used
- Float required
- Weekend rotation required every other or every third weekend
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Must be comfortable with triage, dysrhythmia interpretation, emergency medications, and procedural sedation
- Experience with ventilated patients, trauma, psych holds, and pediatric emergency care required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience managing emergency medications including IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and continuous IV paralytics
- Ability to obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of acuities in a combined adult and pediatric ER setting
- Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
- Perform triage and cardiac monitoring with emergency response as needed
- 36 hours of orientation provided
- Navy scrubs required as part of dress code
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current employees are ineligible to work as travelers at this facility
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
