Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring Epic EMR experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Stepdown Cardiac unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
• 48 or 36 hours per week schedules accepted
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census needs, limited to units where competency has been demonstrated

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a stepdown cardiac unit
• Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Medication and arrhythmia exam required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response including rapid response/code team activation
• Care for patients with post-MI status and those undergoing pre/post cardiac catheterization
• Manage cardiac drip titration and heparin protocols
• Perform chest tube management, tracheostomy care, and neurological/CVA patient care
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Orientation held weekly on Mondays with annual compliance training
• Pre-assignment testing and training modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Night shift travelers in this specialty must reside 50+ miles from the contracted campus to be eligible
