Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift contract requiring at least 1 year of recent experience and BLS certification.

Details

• General Med/Surg unit with some post-op ortho and general surgery patients
• 36-bed unit with a busy, high turnover pace including frequent discharges and admissions
• Patient ratio of 1:6, occasionally 1:7
• Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Occasional floating to ICU to cover step-down or Med/Surg overflow patients
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Cerner EMR and Mindray Telemetry System

Requirements

• Active RN license (NM or Compact)
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• No certifications expiring within first 30 days of start
• Active driver's license required for consideration
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide general medical-surgical nursing care with occasional ICU step-down coverage
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Maximum RTO of 1 week approved
• Fingerprinting required for all NM travelers, which may extend the compliance timeline
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Previous CHS perm staff employees are not eligible if employed within the last 2 years
