Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an Acute Care Hospital setting, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with float responsibility to inpatient and outpatient units
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Epic EMR experience required
• Patient population includes orthopedic, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, and geriatric cases
• Treats conditions such as COPD, CHF, stroke, spinal conditions, and post-op orthopedic surgeries
• Utilizes modalities including cervical/lumbar traction, cryotherapy, e-stim, and ultrasound
• Uses equipment such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts, walkers, and specialty beds

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of physical therapy experience required
• BLS certification required
• Active CA state PT license required at time of consideration (license required if applicable)
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in assessment, documentation, and treatment planning across diverse patient populations
• Strong time management and patient education skills

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge documentation for acute care patients
• May be required to float between sister facilities within the region
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All time-off requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required prior to start
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted within 50 miles at the standard bill rate
• Open to candidates without prior travel experience
