Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of experience, Epic proficiency, and current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Medical Surgical Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Uses Epic EMR
• Required to float to other Med Surg/Telemetry units

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or TN) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience within the last 18 months required, including documentation of where it was used
• Must pass Epic competency exam with only one attempt allowed
• Two supervisory references required
• Skilled in oncology nursing including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry monitoring preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience with wound care and isolation precautions/PPE preferred
• Candidates requiring respirator fit testing must be clean-shaven

• Provide direct patient care to medical surgical oncology patients including chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Support rapid response and code team activities as needed
