Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring a PA or compact RN license and at least one year of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Float within the hospital as needed based on specialty expectations
• Float to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius if needed
• Required to work every other holiday

Requirements

• Active PA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experienced in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
• Experienced in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team protocols
• Experience with wound care, pacemakers, post cardiac cath/surgery care, and total joint replacement preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to cardiac telemetry, stepdown, and oncology telemetry patients
• Manage patients with neurological, renal, and gastrointestinal conditions as part of daily care
• Administer medications including thrombolytic agents and manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former permanent employees of the facility are not eligible to return as travelers
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are preferred
