Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and telemetry remote monitoring experience.

Details

• Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit caring for patients with multiple co-morbidities, specializing in stroke (neuro) patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:5-6
• Day shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Required to float between all Cone Health facilities
• Telemetry remote monitoring experience required; on-unit telemetry monitoring preferred
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience with feeding tube care and management required
• Experience accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with CVA and nasal cannula patients required
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac required
• Dysrhythmia interpretation/EKG skills required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required to verify address
• Third-party education verification required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to a diverse inpatient population with a focus on stroke and neurological cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Manage respiratory care including nasal cannula use

• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; no local rates apply
• RTO must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO accepted
• No open background check cases permitted
