Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist for a day-shift hospital role requiring ARRT registration and BLS certification, with no on-call, weekend, or holiday coverage required.

Details

• Performs routine mammography diagnostic and screening procedures in radiologic and breast imaging
• Prepares and administers contrast media and medications per state and federal guidelines
• Performs patient assessments and provides patient care including instruction in self-breast examination
• Uses RIS and PACS systems for image documentation, transmission, and study review
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• No on-call, weekend, or holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program required
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRT), or registry eligible with registration required within one year of hire
• Registry eligible candidates must provide a copy of diploma from an accredited program
• Must maintain registry status and continuing education requirements annually
• BLS certification required
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Ensures a safe and appropriate procedure environment including equipment checks, cleanliness, and stocking
• Troubleshoots equipment and protocol issues within the work unit
• Documents incidents and communicates improvement opportunities to the supervisor
• Verifies patient identity, history, and pregnancy status prior to procedures
• Evaluates requisitions and orders for accuracy and appropriateness
• Precepts new employees and students
