Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a CA license for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of ICU experience at a 2:1 patient ratio and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU, including Medical and Surgical Intensive Care Unit settings
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, variable shift days (19:00-7:30)
• 2:1 patient to nurse ratio
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius if job specifications are met
• Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of submission
• BSN required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience with a 2:1 patient ratio
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior travel experience within the last 12 months required
• Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, blood product administration, and TPN/Lipids administration
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and CVP monitoring
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and ICP monitoring preferred
• Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide ICU-level care for medically and surgically complex patients requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Prior experience at any University of California medical facility must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• COVID vaccination and booster required, with proof or documentation of a scheduled booster appointment prior to start date
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved by the manager at time of offer, with no additional requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO is not permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
