Description
American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with critical care experience in ICU and ED settings for a day/night shift position at a teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in adult critical care and Emergency Department settings at a teaching hospital
- May work alongside students, interns, or learning RNs
- Day shift (0600-1800) with possible night shifts (1800-0600), 3x12 hour schedule
- 36 hours per week
- EPIC charting system used
- Travel pairs accepted, though same shift is not guaranteed
Requirements
- Active RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BLS certification required
- Epic charting experience required; recent experience within the last 12 months strongly preferred but not mandatory
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Skilled in airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Experience with oxygen therapy delivery methods including HFNC, bag and mask, and ET tube
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Perform suctioning, airway placement, and sputum specimen collection as needed
- Manage nebulizer treatments including hand-held, T-piece, and trach collar methods
- Troubleshoot high pressure ventilator alarms
- Clinicians without recent Epic experience will complete on-site Epic training and pass a test-out before being scheduled
- RTO typically limited to no more than 2 weeks during the assignment, with expectation to make up missed time
- First-time travelers considered
