Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and multiple advanced certifications.

Details

• Level 43-bed Emergency Department, including 8 unlocked Clinical Decision beds for Behavioral Health patients
• Average daily census of approximately 145 patients
• General ED population spanning pediatric to geriatric patients with diagnoses including trauma stabilization, respiratory illness, stroke, behavioral health, acute MI, and uncontrolled diabetes
• 25-30% admission rate
• RN to patient ratio of 1:3-4 based on acuity
• CNA serves as Unit Coordinator with varying ratios
• 12-hour night shift schedule (7P-7A), 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) rotation required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Required to float within Region 2, including Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any Freestanding ED in the region, and Central Division facilities (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital)
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips monitors, Rover communication, Panda Infant Warmer, and LUCAS device

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
• General ED skillset required, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation
• Epic EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year if previously employed in a permanent position there

• Non-trauma designated facility with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center designations
• Not a teaching hospital
• Provide comprehensive emergency care across a wide range of patient acuities and age groups
• Supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including HCT/Unit Secretary, Paramedic, free-floating Charge RN, Patient Safety Attendants, dedicated ED Pharmacist, Social Worker, Scheduler, 24/7 RT, ED Physicians and APPs, Geriatric APP, Hospitalist, and Intensivist
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
