Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a CA RN license and at least 2 years of OR experience for a fast-paced surgical center role.

Details

• Operating Room setting within an ambulatory surgery center
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), with options of 6:30 AM-5:00 PM or 8:00 AM-6:30 PM
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Exposure to a variety of surgical specialties including plastics, orthopedics, general surgery, podiatry, ENT, and neurology procedures
• Use of specialized equipment such as electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, cell saver, Hana Table, and Steris systems
• Experience with robotics-assisted orthopedic surgery preferred
• Any charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS required; CNOR certification preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in plastics, podiatry, orthopedic, general surgery, or ENT procedures preferred
• Familiarity with emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, and malignant hyperthermia procedures preferred
• Two professional references obtained within the past year required for consideration
• Current Nursys license verification and up-to-date certification documentation required for consideration

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and/or scrub duties across a range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity outpatient surgical environment
• Support surgical teams with adherence to infection control, universal protocol (time-out procedures), and specimen handling standards
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
• Returning staff must have a 1-year separation period before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request permitted per contract
• Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• First-time travelers may be considered for this role
