Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring pre-op and post-op recovery experience at a Level 3 Trauma Center.
Details
- Work in the Same Day Surgery/PACU unit handling pre-op and post-op recovery care, not OR Circulator duties
- 14-bed unit with patient ratios of 2-3:1 post-op and 1-2:1 pre-op based on acuity
- Supported by 1 full-time PCT
- Uses bladder scanner, vein finder, and EKG machine
- Documentation completed in Meditech
- Schedule is 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM with on-call responsibilities
- Required to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees
- Floats within Surgical Services as needed, otherwise per facility policy
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or compact) required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Minimum 1 year of recent pre-operative and post-operative experience required
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Perform IV starts, basic IV infusions, foley insertion, and EKGs
- Complete pediatric and neuro post-operative competency training on-site
- Follows AIDET patient experience standards
- Facility is a Level 3 Trauma Center
- Required dress code: ceil blue scrub top and bottom
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
