Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist for a Cardiology department, requiring an Associate's Degree in Sonography and RCIS certification.
Details
- Cardiology department setting
- Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM
- Performs routine and complex echocardiographic sonography imaging procedures
- Performs all forms of Echo testing including Exercise Stress, Dobutamine Stress, standard Echoes, Pediatric Echoes, and Transesophageal Echoes
- Uses Epic for documentation and charges, and Xcelera system for preliminary physician reading
- May assist with on-call coverage for weekends and holidays
- Included in a rotating call schedule with other team members
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Sonography required
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification through Cardiovascular Credentialing International required
- License required if applicable
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with pediatric and transesophageal echoes preferred
Additional Information
- Oversees technical procedures, patient care, and workflows in the echocardiography laboratory
- Assists performing physicians and sonographers in providing high quality echocardiographic exams
- Critiques imaging quality standards including positioning, technical factors, and alignment
- Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness
- Cross-trains to other divisions of CV Services
- Administers contrast when needed and not contraindicated
- Team-oriented role focused on providing compassionate care and quality studies
- Encouraged to continually advance knowledge across all aspects of Echo
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates not accepted
