Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with a CA license and at least 1 year of L&D experience for a day shift hospital assignment.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 7 rooms/14 beds and an average daily census of 10
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Call required depending on patient census
- Floating to Med-Surg and Ortho units may be required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required; pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with fetal monitoring, high-risk delivery assistance, and postpartum care required
- Skills in IV therapy, medication administration (including Pitocin and Magnesium Sulfate), and neonatal care in the delivery room required
- Must provide two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include labor and delivery management, neonatal care, postpartum care, and antepartum monitoring
- Must be comfortable using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the facility, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower rate
- Former permanent staff may return after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Experienced travelers preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the same health system
