  • 24-bed unit including 4 behavioral health rooms and 2 critical care rooms
  • 9-chair vertical flow fast track area and separate triage area, travelers required to perform triage
  • Separate behavioral health/seclusion rooms with dedicated sitter pool, 24/7 in-house security
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1
  • Common diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and uncontrolled diabetes across ages 20-90
  • STEMI and stroke receiving facility with transfers out for intervention, no trauma designation
  • RNs administer common drips including levophed, epinephrine, fentanyl, and propofol
  • RNs perform their own blood draws and read their own telemetry strips (GE monitors)
  • RT staffed 24/7 handling ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs; RNs troubleshoot equipment only
  • Rad tech transports patients to X-ray/CT except stroke alerts or critical care requiring 1:1 RN
  • 1 ED physician on-site at all times with 2-3 additional midlevels during peak hours
  • 24/7 charge nurse coverage, occasionally taking behavioral health patients
  • 1 PCT staffed per shift assisting with transport and phlebotomy
  • EPIC EMR used
  • 12-hour day shifts, 7a-7p, with every other weekend
  • Floating required between 3 Memorial campuses within 20-25 miles of each other, including two in TN

  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

  • Orientation includes two 8-hour hospital orientation shifts and two 12-hour clinical orientation shifts with a preceptor during the first week
  • Holiday coverage expected unless otherwise negotiated in contract
