Description

American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a night shift position requiring NICU III/IV experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the NICU of a 186-bed Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Care for neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 1900-0730)
• Required to work every third weekend
• Floating required if needed for the department
• Scrubs provided for this role
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required (or in process, as CT licenses take 15-21 business days to issue)
• Current certifications: BLS and NRP
• Minimum 3 years of NICU experience required
• NICU III and NICU IV experience required
• Experience with neonates less than 24-28 weeks required
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
• Gastrointestinal care experience required, including bottle/breast/gavage feedings and placement/management of oral, nasogastric, and nasojejunal tubes
• Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
• IV therapy experience required, including arterial line management, central/implanted line care, UAC, and UVC
• Experience with IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids required
• Experience with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome required
• Epic charting experience required
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonates in a Level III/IV NICU setting
• Candidates must be gone from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• RTO of up to 7 days can be auto-approved
• Candidates within 75 miles of the hospital are not accepted as travel candidates
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
