Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Acute Inpatient Rehab unit requiring at least 1 year of rehab experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute Inpatient Rehab unit setting
- Patient ratio of 1:7
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
- Weekend requirement includes 2 weekend day shifts as part of a Sun/Mon/Tues rotation
- May float to MedSurg only when rehab census is low and additional help is needed
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Paragon charting system
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Acute rehab experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical rehab patient populations preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, wound care, tracheostomy care, and patient mobilization/transfer techniques preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for conditions including CVA, spinal cord injury, total joint replacement, and neuromuscular disease
- Responsibilities may include fall risk assessment, pressure ulcer prevention, wound care, and patient teaching
- No holiday coverage required
- No time off restrictions beyond holidays
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
- Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Travel pairs are allowed
- Pending licenses are not accepted

Many travelers; regular staff very helpful; busy ER with EMS coming from multiple counties; 4:1 with dedicated charge, flow coordinator, and float staff. ED is split into in 3 sections, each with tech and secretary. responsive Security. Designated psych nurses/sitters and transportation techs for radiology and admissions.

EMR is Paragon till end of year. EPIC coming in FEBRUARY!!!
