Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications and prior travel experience.
Details
- Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:1 in CVICU and 1:2-3 in ICU
- Required to work 2 weekends per month or every other weekend
- Floating required in accordance with facility policy and clinical experience
- Cares for post cardiac surgery patients, including direct-from-OR cases
- Manages patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
- Utilizes IABP, Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring, and Impella devices
- Performs cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Manages arterial lines, central lines, and continuous IV sedation
- Titrates cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Cares for ventilated patients including BiPAP/CPAP management and ABG interpretation
- Performs ETT and NT suctioning
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
- Travel experience required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Charting system experience required (any EMR accepted)
- Certifications and licensure must not expire within 45 days of start date
Additional Information
- Provides direct patient care in a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU setting
- Must reside greater than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
- Local candidates within 75 miles may be considered at a reduced rate
- Cannot return to same campus as previous permanent staff within 24 months; may return to a different Covenant Health campus after 12 months
- RTO requests are not accommodated during major holidays and surrounding holiday weeks
- Modules are completed during orientation and annually as part of onboarding
