Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology position requiring ARRT VI/BLS certification and strong vascular/IR experience.

Details

• Imaging support role working vascular IR in the OR
• Hybrid OR and Interventional Radiology/Special Procedures work settings
• 5x8 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Rotating call every 4th week
• Uses Siemens equipment and ultrasound
• Epic experience required for documentation
• Uses HI-IQ system to document and track inventory used during cases

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience required
• ARRT VI and BLS certification required
• VA state license required if applicable, pending licenses accepted
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures including angioplasty, endovascular interventions, EVAR, TEVAR, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
• Carotid stenting experience preferred
• Experience with upper and lower extremity angiography
• Skilled in prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures required
• Ability to work independently and be actively involved in the entire case workflow

Additional Information

• Pull inventory and order cases in Epic prior to procedures
• Run the table and controls during cases
• Perform 3D spins and work with fusion technology
• Remain actively engaged in the room throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
• Work closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural team members
• During downtime, utilize a C-arm to support simple surgical cases alongside X-ray staff, including procedures such as Impellas and cystoscopies (AP fluoro of kidneys and bladder)
• Float within scope of practice as needed
• Maximum 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at submission
• Any pre-start vacation time must be disclosed prior to scheduling
• Previous UVA Health employees must have 1-year separation and leadership approval, and external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
• 50-mile radius rule applies; local candidates are not accepted for this unit
