Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role requiring 2+ years of vascular/IR experience and Hybrid OR familiarity.
Details
- Provides imaging support in the OR working vascular IR cases
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift schedule of 5x8 hours (7:30 AM-4:00 PM) or 4x10 hours
- Rotating call every 4th week
- Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural staff
- Utilizes EPIC for inventory pulling and case ordering, and HI-IQ for case documentation and inventory tracking
- During downtime, supports simple surgical cases with C-arm alongside X-ray staff, including Impella and cysto procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- ARRT (VI) and BLS certifications required
- VA license required if applicable
- Strong vascular/IR experience required
- Familiarity with Hybrid OR procedures required
- Ability to work independently required
- Experience with angioplasty, carotid stenting, endovascular interventions (EVAR, TEVAR), thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography preferred
- Experience prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) preferred
- Experience with Siemens equipment and ultrasound preferred
- Epic experience required
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- BSN preferred
Additional Information
- Actively participates in the entire case workflow rather than solely operating equipment
- Runs the table and controls during procedures
- Performs 3D spins and works with fusion technology
- Engages throughout procedures including filming and post-processing images
- Must float within scope of practice as needed
- 50-mile radius rule applies for this unit; locals are not accepted
- Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any planned time off between offer acceptance and start date must be disclosed to request an appropriate start date
- Previous UVA Health employment as permanent staff or traveler must be disclosed; a 1-year separation and leadership approval is required for returning staff, and external travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
- Travelers who reach 365 total assignment days are not eligible to return regardless of time away
