Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support cardiac and vascular IR procedures in a Hybrid OR setting, requiring 2+ years of vascular/IR experience and ARRT certification.
Details
- Interventional Radiology unit providing imaging support in the OR for vascular IR procedures
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift schedule of 5x8 hours (7:30 AM-4:00 PM) or 4x10 hours
- Rotating call every 4th week
- Uses EPIC for pulling inventory and ordering cases prior to procedures
- Uses HI-IQ system to document and add inventory used during cases
- Works with Siemens imaging equipment and ultrasound
- Utilizes 3D spins and fusion technology
- Supports simple surgical cases with a C-arm during downtime, including Impella and cystoscopy procedures
- Potential to float within clinical scope per facility policy
- 50-mile radius rule applies for this unit
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience required
- Current BLS and ARRT (VI) certification required
- VA state license required if applicable, pending licenses accepted (must be in-hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- Preferred Trauma Level I experience
- Epic experience required
- Strong vascular/IR experience with familiarity in Hybrid OR procedures
- Skilled in vascular studies and procedures including angioplasty, endovascular interventions, EVAR, TEVAR, and thrombolysis/thrombectomy
- Experience with upper and lower extremity angiography
- Preferred experience with carotid stenting
- Skilled in prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage entire case workflow, not just equipment operation
Additional Information
- Responsible for running the table and controls during procedures
- Actively engaged throughout the procedure including filming and post-processing images
- Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural staff
- Comfortable being involved in the full case workflow rather than solely operating equipment
- First-time travelers may be considered
- Previous UVA employees must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning as a traveler
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days
- Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract
