Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac IR role requiring 2+ years of vascular/IR experience and comfort working in a Hybrid OR setting.

• Provides imaging support in the OR for vascular interventional radiology procedures
• 13-week assignment
• Schedule of 5x8 hour or 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
• Rotating call every 4th week
• 50-mile radius rule applies
• Epic experience required

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience required
• ARRT (VI) and BLS certification required
• State license required if applicable
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Experience with vascular studies/procedures, angioplasty, endovascular interventions (EVAR, TEVAR), thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
• Carotid stenting experience preferred
• Comfortable working in Hybrid OR and special procedures settings
• Experience prepping access sites and using vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
• Familiarity with Siemens equipment and ultrasound
• Ability to work independently and be actively involved in the entire case workflow

Additional Information

• Pulls inventory and orders cases in Epic prior to procedures
• Runs the table and controls during cases
• Performs 3D spins and works with fusion technology
• Actively engaged in the room throughout procedures, including filming and post-processing images
• Uses HI-IQ to document and track inventory used during cases
• Works closely with vascular surgeons, OR team, and other procedural staff
• May utilize C-arm to support simple surgical cases alongside X-ray staff, including procedures such as Impellas and cystoscopies
• Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 40 hours RTO per 13-week contract, must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to plan a realistic start date
• Previous UVA employees must have 1-year separation and leadership approval if returning as permanent staff or internal travelers
• External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days and are not eligible to return after reaching that limit
