Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PCU/IMC position requiring ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications along with 2 years of recent experience and prior travel assignment history.

Details

• Hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/IMC setting
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• PCU/IMC ratio is typically 1:3-4, while MedSurg ratio is typically 1:6
• Floating required to MS/Tele areas
• Every other 3rd weekend required

Requirements

• Active MD or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI certification preferred
• 2 years of recent RN experience within the last 7 years required
• Prior travel assignment experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to progressive care and telemetry patients, including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Skilled in respiratory support including high flow nasal cannula and nasal cannula therapy
• Experience with isolation precautions, PPE, and wound care/wound vac management
• Facility-specific compliance modules must be completed within one week of contract signing
• Labs and drug screening must be completed within 48 hours of signing
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Former MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
