Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with required Epic charting experience and prior travel assignment history for a 13-week acute care hospital contract.

Details

• ICU setting in an acute care hospital with Level 3 Trauma designation
• Patient ratios of 1:2, occasionally 1:3
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:30 AM-7:00 PM)
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week period
• Float to Med Surg (1:5) or ER depending on census
• No on-call requirements
• Cares for patients with CRRT, cardiac and cardiac surgery (CABG), respiratory failure requiring vent management, DKA, and altered mental status
• Manages multiple drips and performs central line, arterial line, and CVP setup and management
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma or Compact) required at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Recent Epic charting experience required within the past year
• Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least one successful assignment and no performance or attendance issues
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial and central line management, ventilator patient care, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ dysfunction care, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response required
• One reference within the past year from a Manager or Unit Supervisor required (charge RNs not accepted)

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include managing complex ICU cases such as post-cardiac surgery, CABG, and CVA/stroke patients
• Facility maintains a zero-fault attendance policy where any missed shift, regardless of reason, is considered unexcused
• Scrub color varies by unit
• Required to complete pre-start training modules prior to assignment start
• Maximum of 5 RTO days allowed within the 13-week assignment, with no holidays and no additional time off after submittal or while on contract
• No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests accommodated
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Candidates with prior employment at this facility as a traveler or permanent staff are not eligible unless noted as a returning traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
