Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ER Holding unit requiring at least 2 years of ER or related step-down/telemetry experience and an active OH or compact license.
Details
- Work in the ER Holding unit of a hospital setting
- Cares for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Utilizes Epic for documentation
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, including ER or ER observation/holding, MS/Tele, Tele, or PCU/Stepdown experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Skilled in telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Experience with IV insulin and heparin protocols
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, including titration
- Experience with blood product administration
- Tracheostomy care/management experience
- Experience with non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP, oxygen administration)
- Wound care/wound vac experience
- Renal failure management experience
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Utilizes rapid response team protocols as needed
- PCU/Stepdown care experience is valued
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current employees of the health system are ineligible for traveler positions at this location
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to submission, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
- First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
