Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and burn center, requiring at least 1 year of Level 1 or 2 years of Level 2 trauma experience.
Details
- Level 1 trauma, stroke, STEMI, and regional burn center emergency department
- 68-bed unit seeing high-acuity cases with 200+ patients per day
- Patient ratios routinely 4:1, subject to change during surge or special circumstances
- Uses EPIC EMR
- Evening shift, 3p-3a
- Weekend hours required as needed by facility
- No call requirements
- No floating requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license (Missouri or compact)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), and TNCC certifications
- NIHSS certification required prior to start (may submit without)
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 trauma facility, or 2 years in a Level 2 trauma facility
- Trauma and pediatric experience preferred
- High-acuity emergency care experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality of patient information
- Flu vaccination (or approved exemption) required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with no declinations accepted
- Night shift staff orient on day shift and must be available for the entire orientation week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- RTO will not be approved during the first week of assignment and must be made up later in the contract
- Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire not permitted
- Physical demands include standing and walking most of the shift, pushing and pulling patients on stretchers and wheelchairs, lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, and minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality suited for a fast-paced trauma center environment
- First-time travelers may be considered
