Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with ARRT registration and BLS certification for a 13-week hospital assignment.

Details

• Radiology MRI department in a hospital setting
• Weekend-focused schedule: Friday 8:00 AM-8:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM-8:00 PM
• 36 hours per week across 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Uses Cerner EMR system for charting
• May be required to take call and/or work weekends/holidays based on departmental needs
• Potential to float to a sister hospital nearby

Requirements

• ARRT registration required
• Current AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required
• Active SC or compact license required if applicable
• Graduate of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals
• Cross-sectional anatomy or MRI experience preferred
• Ability to perform and teach MRI exams to produce diagnostic quality images
• Knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, and lift/move patients
• Frequent lifting, moving, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs
• Must have corrected hearing and vision within normal range

Additional Information

• Perform MRI procedures under medical supervision of certified radiologists following established protocols
• Supervise student MRI Technologists as assigned
• Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures and assist in obtaining informed consent
• Communicate with radiologists regarding procedures and maintain effective verbal and written communication
• Ensure correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into computer system
• Assist other imaging team members and departments as needed
• Practice radiation safety in accordance with ALARA principles
• Complete annual mandatory in-services and maintain current licensure
• Exposure to radiation, blood, body fluids, and infectious materials is expected
• Does not accept local candidates within 50 mile radius
• Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date, followed by a required 30-60 day break before returning to a new assignment
