Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro Stepdown position requiring MS/Tele experience and current Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Neuro/Surgical Telemetry stepdown unit
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 0645-1915
• Weekend requirement of 3 shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday availability required
• No on-call requirements
• Float to other MS/Tele units or low acuity ICU as needed

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience required
• Epic charting experience within the last 18 months required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with neurological conditions including CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level care to neuro and surgical telemetry patients
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Local candidates and first-time travelers accepted at the same rate
• Candidates requiring fit testing must be clean-shaven
