Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist for a day-shift contract role requiring 3+ years of experience and current ARRT certification.

Details

• Diagnostic Imaging department performing screening and diagnostic mammography examinations
• Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• 36 guaranteed hours per week during non-holiday weeks
• No call required
• Department closed on designated holidays with reduced guaranteed hours during those weeks
• Cross-training available to perform DEXA examinations using the GE iDXA system
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of mammography experience required
• Current ARRT certification appropriate for mammography practice
• Meets applicable MQSA requirements to perform mammography
• Current BLS certification, if required by facility credentialing standards
• State license required if applicable
• Demonstrated mammography competency
• Experience with Hologic Selenia Dimensions 3D Mammography system strongly preferred
• Experience with mammography QC/QA processes preferred
• Experience maintaining FDA and ACR mammography records preferred
• DEXA experience preferred but not required, GE iDXA experience a plus
• Previous travel assignment or rural hospital experience preferred
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the Diagnostic Imaging team

• Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams with accurate positioning and image quality
• Provide safe, compassionate, patient-centered care
• Maintain appropriate documentation and imaging records in compliance with mammography QA/QC requirements
• Assist with FDA and ACR documentation when qualified and assigned
• Work collaboratively with radiologists, providers, and the Diagnostic Imaging team
• Facility will provide training for DEXA examinations using the GE iDXA system
• Best suited for an experienced technologist who can quickly integrate and work independently
• Follow all hospital, departmental, infection prevention, and patient safety policies
