Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a Long Term Care setting requiring CCC certification and 1 year of LTC or Rehab experience.

Details

  • Long Term Care (LTC) setting within a Speech Language Pathology department
  • Caseload typically includes 10-14 patients per day with treatment sessions averaging 30 minutes
  • Days shift, 8 hours per day
  • May float to Parsons as needed
  • No weekend or on-call requirements
  • 13 week assignment

Requirements

  • Current CCC certification (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  • Massachusetts state SLP license required if applicable
  • At least 1 year of SLP experience required
  • New graduates accepted if they have completed a Level II clinical fieldwork experience (Level I observation alone not accepted)
  • Experience in a LTC or SNF setting required
  • One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders
  • Develop and adjust individualized plans of care based on patient progress and standardized assessments
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other providers
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient care
  • Prepare comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical standards
  • Document all treatment information in the electronic documentation system accurately and timely
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings
  • Attend required facility and company trainings and in-services
  • Obtain necessary DME or supplies per clinical and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student SLPs as needed
  • Maintain adherence to ASHA and state practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) may be accommodated
