Description

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with ARRT MRI certification and 2+ years of experience in a teaching facility setting.

Details

  • Community-based hospital setting within a 100-bed medical center
  • MRI unit equipped with 1 GE Optima 450w wide bore machine
  • Performs 12-14 exams per day, scheduled 45 minutes apart, with hours from 6:00 AM to 10:30 PM
  • Primarily 10-hour day shifts with varying start times (6am, 7am, 8am, or 9am), occasionally extending to 9:30 PM as needed
  • Uses Epic documentation system
  • On-call requirement of one night per week (10 PM-6 AM) and every 4th or 5th weekend
  • Weekend call rotation typically 8 AM-12 PM Saturday/Sunday as needed
  • Holiday on-call coverage required (8 AM-12 PM)
  • Floating required within radiology, fluoroscopy, OR, and off-site locations
  • May require cross-training in CT/X-ray
  • Department staffed with 40+ techs, with only 3rd shift typically working alone

Requirements

  • ARRT MRI certification required
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience required
  • Teaching facility experience required
  • Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years is required
  • License required if applicable
  • Must be flexible with scheduling to accommodate variable shift start times

Additional Information

  • Performs routine MRI exams typical of a community-based hospital
  • Responsible for contrast injections
  • May float to surgery and perform fluoroscopy procedures depending on need
  • Scrubs of any color permitted with closed, non-skid shoes
  • Minimal jewelry allowed per dress code, no artificial nails, and groomed hair/beard to accommodate mask wearing
  • Reliable personal transportation strongly recommended as public transportation is not accessible in the area
  • Vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during November through April
  • Bi-weekly orientation schedule with specific start dates
  • Schedule may include Monday through Sunday coverage with no block scheduling
  • Local candidates accepted
  • Radius-based pay tiers apply based on direct-line mileage: local (50 miles or less), radius (51-100 miles), travel (101+ miles)
