Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT) for a 13-week critical care contract requiring RRT credentialing within 12 months of hire and BLS certification upon hire.
Details
- Respiratory Care department serving all patient age levels across the facility
- Day shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
- 26-week contract length
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved Respiratory Care Program
- License required if applicable - Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
- Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care
- BLS certification (AHA) required upon hire
- ACLS certification (AHA) required within 3 months of hire
- RRT credential must be obtained within 12 months of hire
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- 2+ years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting preferred
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, equipment operation, and repair
- Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac care across all patient ages
- Full DOB and SSN required for consideration
Additional Information
- Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff
- Document treatment information and patient response in computerized medical records
- Serve as a resource person to medical staff
- Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring
- Provide age-appropriate care to patients
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of respiratory equipment
- Maintain respiratory therapy records
- Participate as part of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests
- Does not accept local candidates within a 50-mile radius
- Workers may extend contract one time up to a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after that
- Credentialing and compliance deadlines are strictly enforced with no start date flexibility
- 30-day written notice required to cancel or end an assignment early
