Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high risk antepartum cases
- Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low risk antepartum, and low risk L&D care
- Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries and assists with GYN surgeries
- Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
- Staffing ratio of 1:1-3
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Skilled in blood and blood product administration, central line maintenance, and IV therapy
- Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy, insulin drips, and anticoagulation therapy
- Skilled in fetal monitoring, IUPC placement and calibration, and sterile vaginal exams
- Experience circulating and recovering C-sections
- Epidural anesthesia and PCA pain management experience
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Teaching hospital environment with strong staff camaraderie including book clubs and group dinners
- Must commit to working 1 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's/Eve)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be granted
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
- Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
