Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility averages 200-300 births per month
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases
- Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Duties include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk L&D care
- Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
- Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
- Float required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
- Teaching hospital setting
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Experience with blood and blood product administration
- Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and Magnesium Sulfate therapy
- Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections
- Experience with sterile vaginal exams and epidural anesthesia/pain management
- Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Experience with postpartum and antepartum care and procedures
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Strong staff camaraderie with book clubs and group dinners
- May request up to 2 of 3 major holidays off (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year's/Eve), with 1 required to be worked
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies for local candidate consideration
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
- Contracts available in 13 or 26-week lengths
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities in the surrounding area
