Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring at least 1 year of L&D experience and an active CA RN license.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 7 rooms/14 beds and an average daily census of 10
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend required
- Possible floating to Med-Surg and Ortho units
- Call required depending on patient census
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in hand at time of consideration (compact license not accepted)
- Pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- Preferred certification: AWHONN Advanced
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills in fetal monitoring (external and internal), IUPC placement, and management of high-risk and vaginal deliveries
- Experience with postpartum care, newborn care, and neonatal resuscitation
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
- Assist with C-sections, vaginal deliveries, and high-risk delivery situations
- Support patients with pain management including epidural and PCA use
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Seasoned travelers preferred, though first-time travelers will be considered
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days, with requests submitted upfront
- Only one submission allowed at a time within the Providence system
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travamin, and must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities within the region
