Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position at a rehabilitation medical center, requiring a WA or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

Medical Surgical unit within a rehabilitation teaching hospital
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:00
Patient ratios of 1:6-8
Weekend shifts required, minimum every other weekend
Floating required between units and possibly sister facilities nearby
No on-call requirements
Epic EMR used for charting
Scrubs of any color accepted across all units

Requirements

Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
BLS certification required
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
Epic charting experience required
Experience with cardiac monitoring, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care
Skilled in respiratory care including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use
Experience with rapid response/code team protocols

Additional Information

Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg setting, including emergency response and rapid response team support
Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Candidates must live within a 50-mile radius or accept a lower bill rate if local
Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50-mile radius
Two supervisory references required, covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission requests may not be granted
