Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with at least 1 year of emergency department experience and an active FL or compact license for a night shift position requiring float capability across multiple facility locations.

Details

  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Every other weekend required, with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle
  • Major holiday coverage required based on department choice
  • On-call required as needed
  • Float required to all 4 locations: Holmes, Viera, Cape Canaveral, and Palm Bay
  • Documentation via Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration, no pending licenses accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
  • CPI certification preferred
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Prior acute care large hospital experience required
  • Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Work in a Level I/Level II Trauma Center, STEMI and Stroke Certified facility treating combined adult/pediatric emergency patients
  • Scrubs must be a solid color, matching top and bottom, with no logos or prints (self-provided or facility-provided)
  • Flu vaccine required between 10/31-3/31, with medical or religious exemptions only
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers, with no radius restriction
  • Former employees or contract staff must wait at least one year after separation before returning
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
  • Travel pairs permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
  • Finalized RTO must be submitted for consideration and will not be accepted after offer
