Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring 2 years of experience and float pool flexibility across multiple hospital units.
Details
- Float pool position covering ED, ER hold, Medical Surgical, Telemetry, and Stepdown/PCU units
- Patient ratios up to 1:7 in Med-Surg and 1:4-6 on other units
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:00)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Must be flexible to facility scheduling with no schedule requests accommodated
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Previous travel experience required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, respiratory care, IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and cardiac drip management
- Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- ICU/ED experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care across multiple hospital units based on facility staffing needs
- Monitor cardiac telemetry both on-unit and remotely, and respond to emergent cardiac events
- Manage isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized prior to start
- No RTO permitted during orientation week
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers who cancel or are deemed unable to return must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
