Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes cardiac, neurological, and telemetry cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Floating required across home base and other facility locations (Cape Canaveral, Holmes Regional, Palm Bay, or Viera)
• No on-call requirements
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required (CPI preferred)
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Experience with cardiac telemetry, stepdown, or neuro stepdown units preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and rapid response protocols
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac, neurological, and telemetry patients in a stepdown/PCU setting
• Participate in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response team activation as needed
• Flu vaccine required between 10/31-3/31 with medical or religious exemptions only
• Scrubs of any color accepted, but tops and bottoms must match with no logos or prints
• Local candidates accepted at the same travel rate with no radius restriction
• Previous Health First employees or contracted travelers must wait at least one year after separation before returning
• Travel pairs permitted with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of signing
• Orientation includes completion of facility training modules, repeated annually
