Description
American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU Registered Nurse for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of NICU experience and a TX or compact RN license.
Details
- Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit within a children's hospital and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Patient ratios range from 1:2 to 1:4
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
- Block scheduling required with self-scheduling for 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
- Floating between units required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Assignment length of 26 weeks with potential for longer contracts
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at submission
- BLS certification required; NRP Advanced certification required
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
- Level III NICU experience preferred given this is a Level IV unit
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in a wide range of NICU skills including IV therapy, arterial line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of emergency medications
- Experience with neonatal procedures such as therapeutic hypothermia, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy preferred
- Experience with care for neonates across a range of gestational ages, including those under 24-28 weeks
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for compliance
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive neonatal nursing care including developmental care, patient/family teaching, and thermoregulation
- Navy scrubs required for RNs
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space, with bike racks on site
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer requests may not be accommodated
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities within the system
- Only one submission at a time is allowed within the Providence system
- Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
