Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring CA RN licensure and advanced fetal monitoring skills.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit in a community hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Must be comfortable caring for both newborns and postpartum mothers

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• NRP provider certification required
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood products
• Skilled in medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Terbutaline
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and circulating/recovering C-sections
• Experience with antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum stages
• Perform fetal monitoring using external fetal heart monitoring equipment
• Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and ID/security banding
• Manage pain control methods including epidural anesthesia and PCA pumps
• Monitor and manage postpartum complications such as bladder distension and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for local candidate rate
• Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only one holiday request permitted
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this role
