Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring a valid OH or compact RN license and at least 1 year of PCU/telemetry experience.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown/Telemetry/IMC setting within a hospital environment
• Patient population includes telemetry, neurological/psychiatric, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and plastics cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30), 36 hours per week
• Float required within the OSU health system

Requirements

• Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, starting and maintaining IVs, nasal cannula and oxygen administration/tanks, PCA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, and total joint replacement care
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for PCU/stepdown level patients including cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and wound care
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current OSU hospital employees are not eligible for traveler positions
• RTO must be submitted with the contract and is limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
