Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU night shift position at a Level II trauma teaching hospital requiring 2+ years of recent ICU experience.
Details
- Surgical ICU unit within a hospital setting
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week
- Floating required
- Call required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license, Ohio or compact, required in hand at time of consideration
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Surgical/Trauma/Burn/Transplant ICU experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line management
- Skilled in chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and titrating vasoactive drips
- Knowledge of acute/chronic renal failure management and IV insulin protocols
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias
- Experience with post-neurosurgery management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
- Pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience preferred
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to surgical ICU patients in a high-acuity trauma and teaching hospital environment
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
- Current permanent employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
- RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
- Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
